A Slip and A Slurp! is the first in a series of new paintings which take people as their subject. Inhabitants of worlds unrecognisable from the one we currently occupy, for them, existence in our world would be, it seems, unpalatable 

Richard Battersby’s work takes the form of paintings, music, performance and event organising. Exhibitions include Natural Language, Vitrine Gallery, London, 2011, The Allegory of The Cave, Tallinn, Estonia, 2010, X-Ray and The Evidence at Supermarket, Stockholm, Sweden, also 2010, and Studio Voltaire’s Annual Members Show selected by Michael Bracewell and Linder, 2008.
